Hello dearest readers,
This day, Thursday, the 24th of March, the year of 2016 at 3:10pm, I have decided to rewrite my whole story by hand. Why? Because I feel like it (heehee) but more because writing it by hand allows me to evaluate ways to enhance each scene.
So I’ve been writing and rewriting my first chapter, trying to make sure that my first sentence makes readers want to read the first paragraph and then makes them want to read the first page, the first chapter, the first half, and then my first book. All of it has to build right? And unfortunately, while magic happens within the covers of a book, the journey there isn’t always as magical. It’s time, lots of tears, tubs of ice cream, rant fests, strained and red eyes, back pains, and on and on.
While doing a little light reading and researching ways to improve my writing, I stumbled across Monica Clark’s How to Write the Perfect First Page. She had some enlightening words of wisdom, so I wanted to direct you to her fantastic blogpost.
